Something wicked and beautiful.

Joel Coen's THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH is a love letter to Orson Welles's 1948 version, but offers us something new in this take.

Gorgeous black and white cinematography, minimalist, almost German Expressionist mise-en-scene, and Oscar nomination worthy acting by Denzel Washington, and Frances McDormand, the film has plenty to offer cinephiles. The standout performance is perhaps Kathryn Hunter who plays all three witches.

I spent the rest of the day speaking with lots of thee's and thou's.
