Screamfest, the worlds largest and longest running horror film festival in the United States, had its opening night on Tuesday, October 6th.
The organizers did an amazing job holding it safely and stylishly at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.
Adjacent to breathtaking views of vineyards and SoCal mountains, they served cocktails, food, and attracted an A-list crowd.
They screened BOOKS OF BLOOD, an anthology feature horror picture comprised of three loosely interwoven shorts. It is based on the work of Clive Barker, and I believe it is streaming now on Hulu.
Because it was a drive in screening, we beeped our horns, and flashed our lights, if we wanted to applaud. Sound, like in most drive in screenings, comes from turning to the right radio channel. One word of advice, is that if your car has a weak battery, bring a jumper cable.
The festival ends October 15th, so since there are a few days left, if you want to check out the horrific offerings they have in store, check out their website below.
