MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL, helmed by Joachim Ronning and starring Angelina Jolie is one of the prettiest movies of the year.
Unfortunately, even though it's gorgeous to look at, it's length bogs down what would have been a stronger picture, with a shorter running time.
The story is essentially about a pre-wedding dinner gone wrong, and the resulting war. That's a totally acceptable story to tell, but it doesn't justify the more than two hour length.
